You signed up — now what? Here's the realistic timeline from enrollment to seeing credits on your bill.

Enrollment: 5 minutes

The sign-up itself is quick. You upload a copy of your electric bill, confirm your information, and you're enrolled. Nothing to install, no home visit, no waiting for equipment.

Processing: 1–3 billing cycles

After enrollment, your provider (like Ampion) notifies your utility to begin allocating credits. Utilities don't move instantly — they need to process the subscription and sync it with your billing cycle. Most people see their first credit within 1 to 3 months.

First credit appears

When it arrives, you'll see a new line item on your utility bill showing the solar credit. Your total bill will be lower by the credit amount minus your subscription cost (which is built into the credit — you keep the guaranteed savings percentage).

What can slow it down

• New solar farm not yet online: If you're matched to a farm that's still under construction, credits won't start until it begins producing power. Your provider should tell you the expected start date.
• Utility processing delays: Some utilities are slower than others at processing new community solar subscriptions.
• Incomplete enrollment: If your bill upload was unclear or information didn't match your utility account, there may be a back-and-forth before processing begins.

What to expect realistically

For most people: enroll today, see credits within 1–3 months, then every month after that. It's not instant — but once it starts, it's automatic and ongoing with no further action from you.
